Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church Wedding

Ooooh man am I excited to share this wedding. Anna and Andrew are an incredible couple, and I feel so fortunate to have been able to work with them and get to know them a little bit. They are the kindest, sweetest couple you’ll meet, and their joy is absolutely contagious. They were smiling non-stop the entire day, and were genuinely so excited to marry each other. While every single wedding I photograph is special to me, some just pull on my heart strings a little more. This is one of those weddings :) I began the day with Anna in her home for hair and makeup, then we headed to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church for their first look. Afterwards we took some beautiful fall portraits at La Roche College, then back to Holy Trinity for their Greek wedding ceremony! It was my first time photographing an orthodox Greek wedding ceremony, and I loved it! So full of tradition and symbolism. Here are a few words from Anna & Andrew about how they met :)

“It was the Summer of 2012 when Andrew was out to dinner with some Greek friends. He was talking to a girl named Eleni who was quite impressed by this young man. Little did he know, that night she texted her two sisters saying “I met one of your future husbands!” It is safe to say, that Anna‘s sister was absolutely correct!

When Anna and Andrew reflect on first meeting as tour guides at the University of Pittsburgh, Anna remembers the words of her sister replaying in her head while Andrew remembers being completely hooked by Anna‘s vibrant personality and infectious joy. It wasn’t long before they realized they both shared a love for Christ in their deeply rooted Orthodox Christian faith and a love for one another that was unmatched. Their relationship grew as they worked together as camp counselors and Christian youth group leaders.

Andrew proposed to Anna on the top of Pittsburgh’s West End overlook on April 22, 2017, the same place where he first shared with Anna that he loved her. Anna and Andrew now look back on just how far they have come – from the simple statement her sister exclaimed, to sharing a beautiful fall wedding in Pittsburgh. The inspiration for their wedding was the love of the people closest to them – they feel blessed to have been surrounded by so many wonderful friends and family who have watched them grow together over the years. What people will always remember from their wedding is the food that filled their bellies, and the joy that filled their hearts”
