I love being a wedding photographer. No wedding is the same and each one is a unique experience. I get to shoot in some really cool locations and great venues around the area, and I was SO excited that Sandy Yetter of Red Lotus Photography asked me to help her out with this wedding at the Mattress Factory museum on the North Side. The only thing better than photographing an awesome wedding is being able to shoot with someone as nice and talented as Sandy.
The bride and groom are both archivists; the groom at the Heinz History Center and the bride at the Mattress Factory, so it was only fitting to have their wedding here. It was beautiful, classy, and elegant with a ton of fun and unique details, and as always I had a blast photographing it. Here are a few of my favorites!
Now even though I’m a guy and may possibly never fully appreciate a great pair of heels, I can certainly appreciate a sparkly pair of shoes that photograph well :)
The bride and groom decided to do a first look, which is always a fantastic idea. Not only does it give the bride and groom a few uninterrupted moments of just experiencing seeing each other for the first time on their wedding day, but it allows for more time for unique and fun photos. These two had their first look in one of the empty galleries in the Mattress Factory….
After seeing each other they started rehearsing their first dance…

I love their cake; simple and elegant, and the cake topper bride has the same headpiece as the actual bride :)
Sandy and I snuck the bride and groom away at the end of the night for a few last portraits. We headed to the alley behind the Mattress Factory and were able to use a few lighting tricks we have up our sleeves to get the next few photos. I especially love the last two!
